Dreams of what the landscape of our home might resemble (Feat. C S Lewis, J R R Tolkien and George MacDonald on an alternative to Nostalgia, that which we Long for and that which Tabernacles with us).
I set a few thoughts down after interacting with that note a while ago, and they just simmered and simmered until I decided to expand on them a few weeks ago. Such a strange topic, and one I find endlessly compelling. Hard (and maybe dangerous or foolish) to write about in thought-pieces like this, so I tried to leave a fair chunk of the thoughts to Lewis and Tolkien -- who have created the most longing of this kind in me. If nothing else, I got a lot out of writing it -- so thanks for making that note! -- and at least all these provocative quotes from various books, essays, talks and letters are now here for easy access and contemplation.
I'm glad my thoughts were able to prompt some of your own! Thanks for sharing.
